I realize that lately I have been writing about how to modify/change/customize your blogspot blog. I keep referencing this article, but it doesn't talk specifically about backing up and modifying your template. I'm going to dedicate this article to the backing up and modifying of your blogspot blog template.

To backup your blog, follow these steps:

1. Go to your blog and log in.
2. If you aren't already at your dashboard, click on customize on the top or your screen:
   
   
3. Once on your blog's dashboard, click on layout:
   
   
4. Once on the layout tab, look for the Edit HTML link:
   
   
5. This is the meat and potatoes of your blog! The template has all of the information needed to display any blog widgets, customized color settings, and even extra code to change the layout of your entire blog! To save your current template, click on the download full template link on the right hand side of the page, and then choose a location to save it to:
   
   

There you have it! You have just backed up your blogspot blog's template! If you want to create a new blog with your existing layout, you can go into the Edit HTML section for your new blog and upload the template from your old blog! Some colors and pictures may need to be added, but that would be it!
